WHO ARE WE?

The Rotary Club of Caterham Harestone was chartered in 1987.  Since its formation it is has worked with its mother club the Rotary Club of Caterham  to spread the ideals of Rotary throughout Caterham and the surrounding areas.

Caterham Harestone is a club of 20 members meeting on Monday evenings.  Its membership is drawn from Caterham and the surrounding areas, the members come from such diverse professions as Accountancy, Law, Dentistry, Seafaring, IT, Dog Training, Banking, Building and Insurance.

The Club plays an active part in supporting the object of Rotary, which is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • first, the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • second, high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • third, the application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life; and
  • fourth, the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
