In the first half of the Rotary year
gave a cheque for £500 to Jacky Collins from Chase
the Children's Hospice which is based in Guildford. We have also donated £500 towards the appeal set up by Rotary
in the UK and Ireland to help with flood relief in the floods in the North and the West during July
2007.
As we have always done we joined with
the Rotary Club of Caterham and Caterham Round Table
to collect money through the Christmas Tree of
Goodwill street collection. Over the 10 nights
of collection this yielded over £3500. This
was donated to East Surrey Crossroads - a group that
provides respite care to carers in the area.
The staff of 27 support carers of all ages to ensure
that they get some time to do the things that they
personally need without having to worry about what
is happening to their charges.
We have also helped out the Aspinall
Foundation with a small donation.
