CHRISTMAS TREE OF GOODWILL
Despite ice and snow for the last
day of the collection over £3500 was raised towards local
charities by the combined efforts of both Caterham and Caterham
Harestone Rotary Clubs as well as Caterham Round Table. A
big thank you to everyone who contributed.
CHRISTMAS TREE MONEY GOES TO
LOCAL ORGANISATIONS
Money from this year's Christmas
tree of Goodwill collection went to St Catherine's Hospice who
are now running a new unit in Foxon Lane and to the Street a
local youth centre. The money for the youth
centre will go towards display equipment and towards membership
tokens. It was presented recenty to two of the members of
their committee. This money was raised jointly by the two
Caterham Rotary Clubs and Round Table.

On Monday evening 2 students, Hannah
Wingrave and Zoe Holman went with Mrs Harris to attend a Rotary
meeting at Surrey National Golf club. The students were given
the VIP treatment with a lovely dinner. They then presented to
the rotary about the new youth centre ‘street’ and how it is all
developing. We have approximately 30 students who are qualifying
in youth work level 1 at the centre as well as students
undertaking courses like music tech. We also have a selection of
our students who are on the management committee, Jacob Vibetti
who is chair, Daniel Lewan who is vice chair and Kathryn
Richards who is the group secretary as well as students who are
on the committee and contribute to the development and running
of the centre.
Rotary then presented the girls with a
cheque for £1,700 to go towards the centre. Really good evening,
well done Hannah and Zoe.
