CHRISTMAS TREE OF GOODWILL

Despite ice and snow for the last day of the collection over £3500 was raised towards local charities by the combined efforts of both Caterham and Caterham Harestone Rotary Clubs as well as Caterham Round Table.  A big thank you to everyone who contributed.

 

CLUB PROVIDES SUPPORT TO TWO MORE LOCAL CHARITIES

The club gave substantial donations to two local charities based in the Caterham area at its last meeting of the year.  They were the Lily Foundation which trys to provide help and support to families who have children suffering from Mitochondrial Disease and PSDS which helps familiies who have children with Downs Syndrome.

SPRING DANCE SUCCESS

Our main spring fund raising event a dance with the music of Trappers band took place on Saturday 9th May at de Stafford School.  Profits from the event with be going to the Chase Hospice at Guildford.  Around 80 people attended the event that included a supper as well as music and dancing.  A substantial sum was donated to Chase at the last meeting of the Rotary Year.

ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN - IT MUST BE A FETE

President Terry, Secretary Nick, Kay and Graham odel the new uniform in front of the stall, Kay would like to point out she is wearing Graham's fleece.  

 

In alternating cold and hot weekends the club got its ration of fetes  out of the way for another year.  The first of the year was the Warlingham Fair where the club displayed its new issue of polo shirts etc.  President Terry's new artwork for the Fruit Tombola can be seen above the stall along with new advertising boards and leaflets.  The second fete of the year was the Dene Fete on the last Sunday in June.

 

LOCAL ROTARIAN BECOMES ROTARY DISTRICT GOVERNOR

Rtn David Hodge - Caterham Rotary Club and District Governor 1250

David Hodge a member of the Caterham Rotary Club has become the District Governor for our Rotary District 1250.  The District Covers the coast from Seaford to Chichester and then follows up through Haslemere, Farnham and Guildford to Ashtead, Reigate, Caterham and onto East Grinstead and then down through to Lewes via Uckfield and back to Seaford.  There are 59 clubs in the District.  David will lead the District Team and visit every club during the course of his year in Office.
